Data Recovery Services: HDD, SSD, RAID, Phone and Memory Card
Losing access to an important file is stressful, but the right first step usually prevents permanent loss. At DSET we have recovered data from every kind of storage medium since 2003, working from Hacettepe Technopark Beytepe in Ankara. We handle everything from accidental deletions and physical head failures to formatted drives and collapsed RAID arrays.
Quick Answer
Data recovery is the safe retrieval of files from an inaccessible storage device such as an HDD, SSD, RAID array, phone or memory card. At DSET the process starts with a free diagnosis, we create a read only image, and perform physical repair in a clean room when needed. If no data is recovered, there is no charge. Our success rate is 99.4 percent.
Which Media We Recover
Each storage technology has its own failure profile and recovery method. No single piece of software can recover every device, which is why we combine hardware, electronics and software expertise under one roof.
Hard Disk Drive (HDD)
Traditional magnetic drives often fail after a drop, ageing or a power surge. For drives that click, stay invisible or slow down, we perform head replacement, motor repair and sector by sector imaging. See our HDD data recovery page for details.
SSD and NVMe
Solid state drives have no moving parts, but a failed controller chip, NAND wear or corrupted firmware can cause serious loss. Because the TRIM command makes deleted data unrecoverable, timely action matters most with SSDs. We read the NAND chips directly and rebuild the mapping table to extract data.
RAID, Server and NAS
Arrays built from multiple disks usually tolerate a single failure, but when a second disk drops or the controller fails, the array collapses. We rebuild RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 structures, recover from failed rebuilds and restore enterprise NAS units in the lab. This work is performed on disk images, never on the original drives.
Phone and Tablet
We recover photos, contacts and messages from phones that are water damaged, cracked or will not power on. Recovery limits depend on the hardware on modern encrypted devices, so we offer a realistic diagnosis. Learn more on our phone data recovery page.
SD Card, USB Drive and External Disk
Memory cards and USB drives often suffer broken solder joints, controller failure and bad formatting. With external disks, most problems come from the bridge board (USB to SATA adapter) while the disk itself is healthy. Our diagnosis clarifies this distinction.
Loss Types: Logical or Physical
We classify data loss into two main groups and choose the intervention accordingly.
| Media / Service | Typical Case | Our Approach |
|---|---|---|
| HDD | Clicking sound, head failure | Clean room head swap, sector image |
| SSD / NVMe | Controller or firmware failure | NAND read, mapping table rebuild |
| RAID / NAS | Multiple disk drop, failed rebuild | Array rebuild from disk images |
| Phone | Water damage, no power | Hardware repair, chip level read |
| SD / USB | Format error, broken solder | Logical scan or physical repair |
| External disk | Not detected, bridge failure | Bridge bypass, direct disk access |
Logical loss results from software causes such as accidental deletion, formatting, partition table corruption, viruses or encryption. The disk is physically sound. Physical loss covers hardware damage such as head failure, a seized motor, a burnt circuit board or water contact, and always requires lab intervention.
Why Professional Service Beats DIY Software
Recovery tools found online only help with simple logical losses, and when misused they can destroy data permanently. Continuing to run a physically damaged disk only makes the damage worse.
- Clean room: Drives are opened in a controlled, dust and humidity free environment. A disk opened at home or on an ordinary bench is often rendered unrecoverable by microscopic particles landing on the platters.
- Read only imaging: We first take a bit for bit copy (image) of the disk and perform all work on that copy. The original medium is never written to, protecting your one chance. This approach aligns with the ISO/IEC 27037 digital evidence principles.
- No data, no fee: Diagnosis is free, and you are only charged after you approve the recovered data. We carry the risk.
Our Recovery Process
We follow a transparent, step by step process and keep you informed at every stage.
- Free diagnosis: Your device is examined to determine the fault type and recoverability.
- Price quote: A clear cost and timeframe are provided. No work begins without your approval.
- Recovery: A read only image is taken, and physical repair is done in the clean room if required.
- Verification: Recovered files are opened to check their integrity, and we share the list with you.
- Delivery: Data is transferred to a new disk you provide or to media we supply.
Confidentiality and KVKK Compliance
To us your data is not just a technical task but personal information that must be protected. We never inspect, copy or share any recovered file with third parties. Throughout the process our data handling follows Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698). On request, data is securely destroyed after delivery and a confidentiality agreement is signed.
The Ankara Local Advantage
If you are in Ankara, we can collect and return your device with our pickup and delivery service. Because our lab is at Hacettepe Technopark Beytepe, face to face consultation and rapid diagnosis are easy. For customers in other cities we work with secure courier shipping, and we share proper packing guidelines so the disk is not harmed in transit. When deciding which center to choose, our guide on how to choose a data recovery center can help.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the diagnosis really free?
Yes. Examining your device to determine the fault type and recovery chance is free. After seeing the quote, the choice to proceed is yours.
Will I pay if no data is recovered?
No. If recovery fails we charge nothing. You only pay for data you have approved.
Can you recover deleted files?
Often yes, but it is critical that no writing occurred after deletion. On SSDs the chance drops because of TRIM, so powering the device off immediately and contacting us is best.
How long does it take?
Logical losses are usually completed within 1 to 3 days. Physical faults and RAID recoveries can take longer depending on parts and complexity. We confirm the timeframe after diagnosis.
How is the privacy of my data protected?
Your files are never inspected or shared, and the entire process follows KVKK. On request we sign a confidentiality agreement and securely destroy the data after delivery.
