  • On the device: local cache, connection logs, configuration, sometimes a short lived buffer recording.
  • In the cloud account: the real history, footage, commands, timestamps. Access requires the account owner's consent or a legal request.

This dual structure aligns with cloud forensics principles, and for the evidence's integrity both sources must be acquired with the correct method.

Wearables: the body's testimony

Smartwatches and bands are especially strong forensically because they hold continuous data about the person: location, step count, heart rate, sleep and activity.
